CALLING ALL FIRST TIME WOMEN CANDIDATES

Calling All Women Candidates

Thursday, March 8th is International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate the historic achievements of women throughout the world. While I support taking this day to remember all that we have accomplished, we still have a long road ahead.

In 2018, only 106 women hold seats in the United States Congress, equaling a mere 19.8% of the total 535 members. In fact, we lag behind 70 other countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, and India, to name but a few of the nations who have elevated women to their highest office at some time in their histories.

Yes, we came close in 2016. The popular vote showed that for the first time in the United States, the majority of Americans wanted a woman in the White House. Yet we didn’t prevail.

Now more than ever we must harden our resolve and continue to fight “The Good Fight.” It is critical that we continue to support and elect more women to public office.

At Motive, we created a mentoring program called “Adopt A Candidate” specifically for first time female political candidates. In collaboration with our partners at NeverTheLess, we are offering marketing and media muscle tapping into over 100 women advertising executives who are committed to marketing #TheResistance and supporting progressive female politicians. This initiative opens up a broad array of marketing services for women candidates to leverage with the intent of evening the playing field.

If you are interested and able to support our work please contact us as we continue to welcome more women every day. If you are a first-time female candidate then contact us to learn more about how you unlock the energy, talent and passion of some of the brightest minds in advertising and media today. Together we will prevail so join us in supporting the future leaders of the Democratic party.
